Drawing Near to God
Lord, we have come together to ask Your blessing upon Nathan and us, his family.  In your loving kindness,
we are in need of your strength and mercy.  Listen to us now as we pray for we come in faith and hope,
searching for healing and wholeness.Â
Words of Hope and Assurance
Hear these words from the Scriptures:
   I pray that according to the riches of God's glory, he may grant that you be strengthened in your inner being
with power through his spirit...I pray that you have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the
breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses all knowledge, so that
you may be filled with the fullness of God.  Â
(Ephesians 3:16,18-19)
Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.
From the end of the earth I call to you,
when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
that is higher than I;
for you are my refuge...
Let me abide in your tent forever,
find refuge under the shelter of your wings.
(Psalm 61: 1-4)
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.  When you pass through the
waters, I will be with you; when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not
consume you.  For I am the Lord your God... You are precious in my sight, and honored, and I love you... Do
not fear, for I am with you.     (Isaiah 43)
When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his
hands on each one, he healed them.        (Luke 4:40)
Jesus understood the importance of taking time to pray and to lay hands on one another when sick or
hurting.  Â Lord, as we lay on hands and prepare to bless Nathan, we ask that these blessings be a source of
strength and tenderness.  May the healing winds of Your Spirit be as a gentle balm that will move throughout
Nathan, healing him fully. Â
Family Prayer:
Lord we ask that you bless us, Lee, Tammie, Marissa, Ganny &Grandpa, Grandma Caroline &
Grandpa Bob, and the rest of our family and friends  as we surround Nathan with our love and
prayers.   Lord, may our prayers give Nathan and us the gifts we need as we walk this journey of
healing.  Give us wisdom as we seek to make good decisions for him.  Be with us as we lean into
your presence and help us to live in the precious present.  May your Spirit of healing and love
move deep within our hearts, minds and souls, lifting us from our fears, worries and concerns;
replacing those places with adeep sense of your peace, love and compassion.Â
Nathan's Blessing
Nathan, you were born from the union of the life-giving blood of your parents.  Now you are being bonded in
a special way with the life-giving cord blood of your donor.  We are thankful for these life-giving cells. This act
of generosity will be remembered and carried within our hearts.  Lord, embrace Nathan in your loving arms
and surround him with your healing presence.  Open his body and spirit to receive this gift of cord blood that
it may flourish and bring him new life.
Nathan receive Christ's healing touch and may the living hope that is resting in the gift of this cord
blood bring you healing and a life of health and peace.
These blessings and prayers flow from our hearts.  Hear us and spread over us the shelter of your peace as
we join together in the prayer Jesus taught us to pray:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth
as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive
those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For
thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever.    Amen.
Closing:Â Â Â Â
God be our comfort, our strength;
God be our hope and support;
God be our light and our way;
and the blessing of God,
Creator, Redeemer and Giver of life,
remain with us now and forever. Amen.
